Make Up Tips and Tricks.

Pintrest, Twitter, Tumblr etc are all full of beauty tips and tricks that claim to make your life easier, but how many of them actually work?

I have compiled a list of hints and tips that I have actually tried myself, and found really effective!

Jordan's Top 10 Beauty Hacks

1. If you accidentally purchase a foundation that’s too dark, adding a bit of moisturizer to your mix can help lighten it.

2.  Prime your eyes with white eyeliner or eyeshadow to really make your colorful shadows and liners stand out.

3. If you want longer lashes without extensions, add baby powder to your lash routine. Simply use a cotton swab to dab on baby powder in between mascara applications and you’ll have longer, thicker lashes :)

4. Turn any eyeliner pencil into super-intense gel liner. hold your kohl pencil over a flame  (lighter, stove top etc) for 1 second then leave to cool for 15 seconds and voila, a dark gel eyeliner that will last all day.

5. Cover up dark circles by applying concealer in a triangle rather than dots under the eye. (pic is not me)

                                              

6.  Spray bobby pins with strong-hold hairspray before using for better grip to keep your updo in place.

7.  Smashed your favorite powder shadow or foundation? Add a small amount of rubbing alcohol and stir. Let the alcohol dry out overnight and you’ll wake up to a fixed compact in the morning.

8. If you find your mascara beginning to get clumpy, place the tube in hot water for five minutes to make the formula like new again.

9.  Johnson’s No More Tears Baby Shampoo makes a great (and cheap!) makeup remover.

10. Save money on liquid foundation by applying  with a brush instead of a sponge. Sponges absorb foundation so they use it up quickly. Instead, apply with a brush or a cotton round then blend with a sponge.
